Shannon Technical Services (STS) is an independent aviation technical services company providing specialist support to aircraft owners, lessors, airlines and maintenance organisations worldwide.

As part of our continued growth, STS is establishing an EASA Part 21 Production Organisation (POA) to manufacture aircraft placards, decals, identification plates and other approved aircraft markings. We are seeking an Aviation Graphics Technician to join our new Production Organisation and play a key role in developing our manufacturing capability.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine graphic design, digital print production and precision manufacturing within a highly regulated aerospace environment. Working alongside our technical and quality teams, you will be responsible for transforming approved technical data into high-quality aircraft products that meet the stringent standards of the aviation industry.

The Opportunity

  • Join the founding team of STS’s new EASA Part 21 Production Organisation Department.
  • Play a key role in establishing a new aviation manufacturing capability in Shannon.
  • Design and manufacture aircraft placards, decals, identification plates and aircraft markings for commercial aircraft worldwide.
  • Work with leading aviation customers including aircraft lessors, airlines, MROs and asset managers.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Artwork

  • Design aircraft placards, decals, identification plates and aircraft markings using approved technical drawings, customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce accurate, print-ready artwork using Adobe Illustrator or equivalent vector-based design software.
  • Create, amend and maintain artwork libraries and production templates.
  • Verify layouts, dimensions, fonts, colours and materials against approved engineering data.
  • Prepare digital files for production while ensuring consistency and compliance with customer requirements.

Manufacturing & Production

  • Operate Mimaki UV printing equipment and associated production machinery to manufacture aircraft placards, decals and identification products.
  • Prepare materials and substrates for production.
  • Carry out cutting, finishing, laminating and assembly of products where required.
  • Ensure products are manufactured to approved specifications and delivered to the highest quality standards.
  • Package and prepare completed products for shipment.

Quality & Compliance

  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify product conformity.
  • Complete manufacturing documentation and maintain full product traceability.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the STS Production Organisation Exposition (POE), approved procedures and applicable EASA Part 21 requirements.
  • Identify, report and assist in resolving production non-conformances.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and safety within the production area.

Quality & Compliance

  • Prioritise workload to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Assist with production planning and workflow management.
  • Monitor stock levels of production materials and consumables.
  • Support purchasing activities and inventory control.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are delivered efficiently.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support initiatives to improve production efficiency, quality and standardisation.
  • Develop and maintain reusable artwork templates and production standards.
  • Participate in internal audits and process improvement activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the STS Production Organisation.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Qualification in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Print Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience producing artwork for commercial print or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or equivalent vector-based design software.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately from technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Experience operating Mimaki UV printers or similar digital print equipment.
  • Experience within the signage, industrial graphics, labelling or specialist print industry.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW or similar graphics software.
  • Experience with vinyl cutting, laminating or laser engraving equipment.
  • Understanding of colour management and print calibration.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001, AS9100 or EASA Part 21 quality environments.
  • Previous experience within the aviation or aerospace industry.
