New Role - Closing Date: 16th October 2026
About Shannon Technical Services
Shannon Technical Services (STS) delivers specialist aviation technical support—including lease-return management, engine documentation auditing, borescope and airframe physical inspections, and engineering consultancy—to global lessors, airlines, owners, and financial institutions. To support the continued expansion of our regional footprint across Asia-Pacific, we are seeking a qualified Borescope Inspector to join our operational hub in Singapore.
Work Authorisation: Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work and travel in the Singapore and the Asia Region.
The Role
This position carries responsibility for performing objective engine borescope evaluations across scheduled maintenance checks, redelivery projects, and asset condition monitoring tasks. Operating primarily in field environments, the inspector maintains technical independence while liaising directly with STS project management and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct engine borescope inspections against applicable maintenance data, inspection requirements and customer workscopes, across a range of aircraft and engine types.
- Identify, assess and document engine findings (damage, deterioration, wear, foreign object debris, corrosion, cracking and similar), capturing high-quality imagery and video.
- Carry out dimensional measurements where required, and prepare clear, technically defensible borescope inspection reports assessed against maintenance manuals and inspection limits.
- Support lease-return, redelivery, engine acquisition and disposition, and mid-term inspection programmes.
- Liaise with customers, lessors, operators, maintenance organisations and STS project managers, providing technical clarification as needed.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, and keep equipment properly maintained and calibrated.
- Travel internationally, often at short notice, and maintain professional independence and objectivity in reporting findings.
- Comply with STS quality, safety and reporting procedures, and support the wider technical team as required.
Engine Types:
Experience on one or more of the following engine families would be advantageous:
- CFM56 series
- V2500
- PW100, PW120, PW127 and PW150 series
- PW1100G Geared Turbofan series
- CFM LEAP
- GE CF6, GE90 and GEnx engines
- Trent family
- Other commercial turbofan or turboprop engines
Candidates with strong borescope inspection experience on other engine types are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
Essential
- Previous professional experience conducting aircraft engine borescope inspections, with a strong understanding of engine components, deterioration mechanisms and inspection requirements.
- Ability to interpret engine maintenance documentation and inspection criteria, and to produce formal borescope inspection reports.
- Strong attention to detail and technical judgement, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Asia-Pacific and internationally, with flexible availability around customer schedules.
- Good written and spoken English.
Desirable
- Experience with lease-return or aircraft redelivery inspections, and with multiple engine types.
- Experience working with aircraft lessors, airlines, maintenance organisations or engine asset management companies.
- Experience with advanced borescope inspection equipment, including image, video and three-dimensional measurement documentation.
- Relevant aircraft maintenance licence, engineering qualification, or borescope inspection and original equipment manufacturer training.
- Familiarity with operating under EASA, FAA or equivalent civil aviation authority regulatory frameworks.
Personal Attributes:
- Technically strong, detail-oriented and confident making independent assessments.
- Professional when dealing directly with customers, and reliable under time-critical redelivery schedules.
- Comfortable working across different countries and operational settings.
- Able to communicate technical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
What We Offer:
- Work with a growing international aviation technical services company, with exposure to a wide range of aircraft, engine types and aviation stakeholders.
- International travel and assignments across Asia-Pacific and beyond.
- A path to a senior borescope inspection or engine technical specialist role, with training and professional development support.
- Competitive salary plus project and travel allowances.
